Colombia El Bombon (Espresso Roast)

This lot comes from the many coffee farms scattered in Popayan and the surrounding areas of the Cauca Department. Popayan is situated at the base of Purace volcano in the south of Cauca and is located at 1760 masl.

The rich volcanic soil is one of the many things that give the coffee cherries their characteristic flavours.

With the rivers Cauca and Magdalena close by, Popayan is a region of agricultural abundance and a plentiful water supply.

The undulating plateau of Popayan coupled with the Andes Mountain Range that cuts right across Cauca helps to maintain consistent temperatures throughout the region while its high rainfall levels average at around 1900 millimetres annually.
