ROASTERS NOTES:

Finca El Limón sits in Cajamarca, Peru's biggest coffee producing region, tucked into the northeastern highlands at 1,600 to 1,900 metres. Owned by Segundo Pablo Coronado Perez and his wife Erika Estela Vásquez since 2022, the farm is young by any measure. What isn't young is the knowledge behind it. Coffee growing has passed down through their family for generations, and they've paired that with meticulous soil testing, contour planting and reforestation to protect the land while chasing better and better cups.

This is a Gesha microlot, traceable straight back to this one farm. In the cup: fresh peach, juicy orange and apple blossom. Juicy acidity, sugary sweetness and a clarity that Gesha is famous for, without any of the fuss.

Delicate. Juicy. Unmistakably Gesha.

Flavour notes

Fresh peach. Juicy orange. Apple blossom.

Washed process. Gesha variety. Juicy acidity. Sugary sweetness.

You've got questions, we've got answers.

What's the deal with Gesha? Why does everyone go on about it?

Gesha is a coffee variety originally from Ethiopia that ended up in Panama and completely reset expectations for what coffee could taste like. It's naturally low yield and fussy to grow, which is why it usually carries a premium price. This one's grown in Peru rather than the usual Central American spots, so you get the quality without the usual Panama Gesha price tag.

Who grows this coffee?

Segundo Pablo Coronado Perez and Erika Estela Vásquez, a young couple running Finca El Limón together since 2022. They're known locally as a responsible, forward thinking family, testing their soil, protecting it from erosion and reforesting parts of the farm to keep it productive for the long term. Buying this coffee puts money directly into their hands, not a middleman's.

Is for filter brewing?

The peach and orange brightness and the apple blossom florals need a longer, gentler extraction to really open up. V60, Kalita, Aeropress or batch brew will all show this coffee at its best.

Will it be too acidic or too "weird" tasting?

No. It's bright and juicy, not sour or fermented tasting. Think ripe peach and fresh orange juice, not funky natural process chaos. If a coffee that tasted more like wine than coffee wasn't your thing, this isn't that. This is clean, sweet and easy to love.

Why is it more expensive than your usual coffees?

Microlots like this are traceable back to a single farm, and that traceability comes with the highest prices paid to the producer. You're paying for scarcity and quality, not a marketing story. Segundo Pablo and Erika get paid properly for growing something genuinely excellent, and you get a coffee that's genuinely rare.
